Amici amici e poi ti rubano… il nome!
Potrebbe essere riassunto così il comunicato che Jeffrey Sutorius – il mondo l’ha conosciuto fino ad oggi come Dash Berlin – ha diffuso a mezzo stampa e social network in questi giorni.
Jeffrey è il frontman del progetto Dash Berlin, ma non l’unico membro del progetto. Dietro il computer, in studio a produrre, ci sono Eelke Kalberg e Sebastiaan Molijn, che curano anche molte parti del management del gruppo insieme alla Vanderkleij Agency.

Stando a quanto dichiarato da Sutorius, i suoi soci hanno registrato a sua insaputa il nome ‘Dash Berlin’, escludendolo di fatto dal progetto senza preavviso e quindi impedendogli legalmente di esibirsi con il nome con il quale il mondo l’ha conosciuto e amato. Nonostante il ricorso ad avvocati ed azioni legali, infatti, pare che non ci sia stata via per un riappacificamento e quindi Jeffrey d’ora in poi, se continuerà ad essere un dj, lo dovrà fare sotto diverso nome. Oltre a questo, l’olandese è stato estromesso da tutti i social network ufficiali di Dash Berlin, il che spiegherebbe il silenzio social che ormai dura da quasi due mesi.

Queste vicende e la loro conclusione arrivano dopo l’annullamento di diverse serate targate Dash Berlin, compresa una presenza a A State of Trance 850 in Polonia a fine maggio. Le ragioni dichiarate avevano sempre coinvolto problemi di salute, tanto da cominciare a preoccupare seriamente la fanbase, ma la verità ha mostrato che dietro c’è stato – e c’è tuttora – ben altro.

“Through this statement I inform you that at the end of May I severed my ties with Vanderkleij Agency, Sebastiaan Molijn and Eelke Kalberg (booker and management of Dash Berlin). The reason for ending the relationship is mismanagement in the past several years and neglecting my interests. I recently found out that Molijn and Kalberg together with Vanderkleij Agency registered the name ‘Dash Berlin’ in their own name. I did not realize that as such it might not be possible for me to perform under my Dash Berlin name. I requested my lawyers to put this matter before the court, so that this matter can be resolved. All this has had a negative influence on my health, and I was advised to take it easy. I would have preferred to announce this through my own social media channels. However, after ending the relationship my access to the social media accounts was blocked. I hope that all this can be settled quickly and that I can continue to perform. I love my fans and I hope they will understand.
